Looks of the Week
Welcome back to another Summer edition of MCLV’s Looks of the Week. This week’s top looks come from around the globe – From New York City to Spain to Paris to Russia.
And let’s start this out with a fabulous girl of summer!
Girl of the moment Miranda Kerr has done a fabulous job street style wise over the last year or so, putting together killer look after look. Great bags, great shoes, great sunglasses – great looks!
Love this! The colors in this look and the gold accents are fabulous, it’s really chic and well put together. I love the zebra top but it’s really that day clutch that caught my attention, tres chic!
Feeling the Zebra love after seeing this look? Check out this too cute sleeveless zebra tank or swoon-worthy nude clutch like Lovely Pepa’s!
Mixing prints is an art, but it takes a master to mix animal prints – And we all know that models are the mix n’ match masters!
I’m not even sure I can narrow down what I love most about this look… The colors are great, I love the colorblocking, those heels are killer, and that gold rope necklace is phenomenal.
The first thing I thought after seeing this look was, I need a skirt just like that one!
This is a fabulous shade of blue and I love the top, but it was the chunky chain link necklace with crosses, pearls, beads, and chains that first caught my attention. J’Adore!
Need. That. Necklace.
Color color color! Leave it a chic Italian to find the best ways to pump up the drama for in a Summertime look with brights and colorblocking.
I think that a fun patchwork dress is a must have for Summer!
I know that I featured a similar floral wrap skirt two weeks ago on Miss Ashley Madekwe, but it’s such a perfect, low-key, but stylish Summer staple, I just couldn’t help myself when I saw this one!
Whether you prefer mini or maxi, a tropical print skirt is a great addition to any Summer wardrobe.
This is a great look overall, but I have to confess that what I love most are the details and individual pieces. That ornate antique gold collar is phenomenal, the open-backed sweater is a great twist on a traditional top, and I love anyone who can rock sequins during the day – that clutch is killer!
Why not take a tip from this shot and find yourself a fun, unique top that can be paired with all your fun Summer prints and patterns?
So. Cute. I adore the pussybow polka dot blouse and while the shorts keep it casual, the heels are beyond fabulous.
My first instinct after seeing this fabulous look was to snag myself a similar blouse, you can’t have enough polka dots in your closet, trust me!
Such a great, casual but ultra fashionable look for sightseeing. That hat is fabulous all on its own, but I really do like the oversized sweater paired with that phenomenal necklace.
This collar necklace is killer and really helps make this look come together!
This is perfection, from top to bottom – As always from Miss Wendy. The top is chic and minimalist, while the pants add texture and print, and those accessories? Swoon!
I love the fun, retro vibe of this look. The tassel loafers and pleated floral skirt are a perfect combination and the oversized tan messenger bag is a great, vintage finishing touch.
Why not add a pair of cute loafers to your flats collection?

Looks of the Week – Workwear Edition
I thought that I’d take our usual Monday Looks of the Week post and specialize it just a bit this week. Rather than including just the street style looks that catch my fancy, this week is going to be all about fashionable looks that you can try out at the office. They’ll run the gamut from power suits for you corporate ladies out there to great separates, and inspiration for working pants and pencil skirts into your work wardrobe.
Frequently my sartorial excitement is focused on my weekend and evening looks – those are the ones that I plan in advance and day-dream about. Unfortunately that can mean that on workday mornings I just throw on a black dress and pumps without giving my choice much thought, even though I’ll be wearing them for 12+ hours.
Sound familiar?
My goal with this post is to inject a little enthusiasm and inspiration into our how we dress for work. Why not add some spice to the pieces and outfits that you end up spending most of your day in?
The Pencil Skirt:
This is SUCH a versatile piece, a building block for an unlimited number of outfits and styles. You can try a retro silhouette, put together a traditional suit look, or spice things up with a printed or brightly colored version for a more fun spin.
Whatever you’re in the mood for!

Don’t be afraid of color! This is a great example of a stylish look that’s fashionable and fun, but still office-appropriate.
The Wrap Dress:
A basic wrap dress is one of my favorites for the office. You can go with basic black, a fun color, or even a print like the one I donned below from Banana Republic during the Mission: Put Together 2012 challenge.

Printed Wrap Dress: Banana Republic, Shoes: Zara & Jewelry: JewelMint, Banana Republic, Forever 21 & Juicy Couture
The Slacks:
When you’re mixing separates like slacks, a button down, and a blazer, you have more freedom to be creative than with a suit or a dress. So take some chances and make the most of it by includes bold hues, mixing colors, or even adding prints & patterns.

This is a gorgeous, colorful look. No need to stick to boring black this Summer, why not draw inspiration from this look and try out some fun colors?
The Suit:
Luckily the suit has come a long way from its initial inception, we’re no longer constrained to a boring, basic black pants and jacket blazer combination like we were in the past. These days there are an endless number of choices out there and all sorts of different colors, cuts, patterns, fabrics, and silhouettes to choose from.

Head-to-toe color is a great way to stand out. This chic emerald-green suit is phenomenal and I love that she accessorized with white rather than black.

You don’t have to match your suit jacket to your pants, so why not wear slacks with a shell and pair the look with a contrasting coat?

Does this inspire you to try something that’s new for you, or add some color, prints, and fresh silhouettes to your everyday work outfits? Did this post give you some fun ideas for how to update your wardrobe?

Looks of the Week
Welcome back to another Looks of the Week post, personally, my favorite way to finish up a Monday.

How fabulous is he? I love everything from the umbrella and pocket square to the cut and color, to the black tie and suspenders. Just perfect!

It can be hard to wear one color all over without looking like you’re trying to hard to having the hues not quiiite match up properly. This neutrals short outfit is a great example of how to make it work though, she looks put together and chic, but relaxed.

I really enjoy mod-inspired fashions and this is a great great modern day example. She looks chic and well put together. Love!

So. Cute. If you’re scared of trying out the peplum trend, a black skirt version like this one is a great choice to ease you into it. The highlight of this looks for me though is the Romwe Spiked Headband. Amazing.

This is a great example of how a simple dress can be styled into something even better. She adds an adorable patterned blazer and gorgeous neutral colored accessories and takes this from basic to perfect LA style.

This layering look is great. I love the slouchy sweater paired with short-shots, it creates a fun, unique silhouette.

There’s a great retro vibe here and that’s part of what really caught my attention. I also adore the layering that’s going on. The button down, plus a collared button-up sweater, and finally the fabulous Jack London jacket. Well done!

Wide leg pants can be incredibly chic and Zina’s look is perfection. The silhouette is flattering and the accessories are fabulous.
So what’s your favorite look here?
