MCLV Style: IFBCON Day One
I’ve been beyond excited for this trip to New York City for weeks – Seeing my best friend, attending IFBCON, and spending time in NYC which one of my top three favorite cities.
IFBCON was everything that I was hoping it would be – A fun, fashionable, engaging event that left me inspired and motivated, and absolutely determined to move to New York! I met some lovely ladies who I’m looking forward to staying in touch with and I’m looking forward to sharing their blogs with you in the future.

With my nervous excitement running the show I decided that I couldn’t go wrong with a simple black and white look with some fun silver embellishments and a killer pop of color. I love the idea of leather shorts but muggy NYC is not the time to try them out so I went with these faux leather trimmed shorts paired with an embellished white Zara top and a metallic tweed open blazer.
Stay tuned for some great style shots of the amazing fashion bloggers that I met at the conference this week – The looks that they put together were outstanding and the styles totally diverse.
Do you have a go-to style or a specific color combination that you like to pair together when you want to look great? Do you prefer to air on the side of overdressed or under-dressed?

MCLV Style: Skulls & Givenchy
I adore San Francisco during the Summer – Blue skies, crisp air, and a slight breeze – It’s Summertime perfection as far as I’m concerned. But every once in a while I give up my moderate weather and venture into warmer territories. You wouldn’t think of Sonoma as a hot climate, but it can get pretty toasty during the summer.
The answer to this fashion conundrum? Mini skirt!
{Skull Print Blouse – People’s Market from Asos.com, Tiered Black Mini Skirt – Juicy Couture from Bloomingdale‘s, Heeled Sandals – Nine West, Large Nightingale Satchel – Givenchy from Barney’s NY, Chainlink Chanel Bracelet, Sapphire & Diamond Art Deco Engagement Ring, Bow Pendant, and Gold Locket – All Vintage}

I absolutely adored this skull print blouse when I saw it on Asos.com and knew that it would a fun addition to my wardrobe. It’ll work well with a blazer for Fall and I liked how it paired with this tiered mini skirt over the weekend.
Stay tuned for more pictures from our trip to Sonoma this past weekend, an exciting accessories guest post from yours truly, and news about the new love of my life!
Do you ever mix things up with a fun print or bright color? What’s your favorite statement piece in your closet – Accessories, article of clothing, or jewelry?
